"Lectronin. . . combines the best aspects of electronic, classical, and others onto a sonic palette that carries well in any setting . . . it's a versatile, visceral collage of sounds, textures, and elements from all of today's music . . ."
- Tracy Katz, eMusician Xtra

Portland electronic musician lectronin (Will Stewart) is a maverick who refuses to conform to anyone's expectations of what a classically trained musician or electronic music artist should be.  Even his name (formed from an English-Japanese hybrid; “elect ronin”) means "one who chooses to be masterless."  Stepping outside the standard electronic genres, he views them as colors on a palette that can be mixed and combined with other elements (classical instrumentation, rock beats, avant-garde noise) to create new textures and sonic mashups, that while sometimes danceable, find a life outside the club.

Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area not far from Silicon Valley, Will found early on that he had a passion for two things; music and computers.  After completing two music degrees in composition, he abruptly dove into the electronic music scene.  Influenced by artists like the Crystal Method, BT, Moby and Daft Punk, he formed lectronin in 2005.

lectronin released his debut EP, revealed, in 2007 on his own imprint, HiCap Records, and it's now available in digital form throughout North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.  Taking his art from the studio to the stage, he has performed several shows throughout the Pacific Northwest, including opening for Tooth and Nail's electronic artist Joy Electric.  His music has been featured on the Internet in several podcasts including the MacCast and Night Guy Electronica.
